This lacquer was inspired by my grandfather and the Harlem Renaissance. Named in honor of the charismatic musical genius that is Nat King Cole. A baritone with absolutely perfect pitch, this jazz pianist, became prominent in an era that expected black musicians to sing about buffoonery and preform minstrel songs. He took his own stand, by creating music with a whole new sound and preforming in such a way that cast a new light on what a black musician could be. Breaking barriers in both music and television, his timeless voice has inspired every generation after him including legends in their own right: Ray Charles, Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye, with this lacquer we remember the Incandescent Mr. Cole.
